Lilacs and Hydrangeas: Webinar, Videos and Stories

June is a great month in our zone 5 garden. The lilacs, peonies and rhododendrons are finishing their bloom cycle and other perennials and shrubs, such as hydrangeas, are getting ready to put on a summer show. I was thinking about how popular lilacs and hydrangeas are for most gardeners, so I thought to dedicate a newsletter to both of them. Now is the time to prune your lilacs before they set flower buds for next spring. I talk about how to do that and how to do a rejuvenation pruning for overgrown shrubs in my Growing Lilacs and Hydrangeas Webinar.

In this webinar, I also include information on growing hydrangeas including some of the new varieties on the market. Hydrangeas have been going through a spike in popularity with lots of cool new varieties. I talk about more hardy blue hydrangeas, a number of new panicle, late summer blooming hydrangea varieties and new arborescens varieties that feature pink flowers. In this webinar I include detailed information on varieties, planting, growing, pruning and general care of both lilacs and hydrangeas.

I also provide links to other videos and stories on my website about Lilac Pruning, Growing Hydrangeas and Growing Climbing Hydrangeas here for you to enjoy.

Until next time I’ll be seeing you, in the garden.
